Don't Get Homebuyers’ Heartache This February

When thinking about buying a home, a lot of people tend to go to a realtor first. Maybe that’s because we all know a realtor or that’s simply the first step we’ve been taught. Often, I think it’s because we’re so excited to start looking at houses and it seems natural that you need to find a house first before you think about buying it.
In the spirit of Valentine’s let’s think for a moment. You’re in charge of this year’s Valentine’s date. It’s up to you to pick the spot and make the night just right. Do you, one: choose the restaurant, set the reservation, and tell your significant other the exciting plans only to look at your bank account and realize it’s time to get creative in the kitchen instead? Or do you, two: look at your bank account, make note of your budget for this year’s celebrations, then scout out a place that gives you everything you want within the price range you can afford? Then, make the plan, tell your honey what’s happening, and let date night commence!
I’m hoping you’d go with option two because it’s simply the wise choice. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made the mistake of option one before and the letdown was awful.
When it comes to buying a home, it’s the same thought process.
The thing I mentioned at the very beginning that you must do first, is come to a lender like me and find out what kind of home you can afford. The process is simple, it’s educational, and it’s free. It allows me to hear what your financial goals are and take a look at what lending options are out there for you. Then, we work to get you pre-approved so you can begin your house hunt to find that dream home. Homebuyer heartache happens when you look first and go to a lender later. Falling in love with a house outside your price range is painful. Missing the chance to make an offer because you don’t have a pre-approval letter is so discouraging. My team wants to do everything we can to make sure that doesn’t happen. We want to set you up for a great experience by helping you know what your price range is to give you the mortgage payment you can afford. Then, once you find that perfect place, you can put your offer in with confidence.
I know the pre-approval process can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. With the help of my team, we’ll educate you on the mortgage process and give you secure and easy ways to upload your documents to a personalized portal. We’ll review your credit score with you and even give you ways to strengthen it so you can find the right mortgage. We’ll help you find a reasonable rate and make sure no stone goes unturned in finding the best lending option for you.
So, don’t suffer from homebuyers’ heartache this season. Instead, give me a call and we’ll get you started today. I might even be able to help you with that date night idea too. 😉
