Children love novelty and they love having fun, interesting things to do, especially during a break from school.  While it may be tempting to have kiddos sitting in front of some sort of screen, how about trying these kinds of activities?

Kids have a hard time realizing adults were once young.  Tell stories about when you were young and describe what you had to play with, what you did with your time, and what you did during holiday breaks when you were home from school.  Your children may ask you additional questions or make comments, that lets you know they are interested and learning about you when you were young.  See if you can create some simple games like you played (hide and seek comes to mind) and show them not only how to play but play with them.  You will build memories that will last a lifetime, beat the boredom that sometimes happens during breaks, and also keep children's minds busy!
