Even though grilling has become a year-round activity, there are those of us that see sunshine and longer days as the perfect opportunity to fire up the outdoor kitchen. Nothing signifies the arrival of spring like the aroma of burgers, brats or steak on the grill!

In today’s grilling world, we have so many choices of equipment to prepare that delicious piece of protein.   Two of the most popular choices today are the long-time favorite propane grill and the trendy wood pellet option...both have their advantages.

Propane grills, having been around since the 1950’s and are a common staple on many homeowner’s patios.  They provide a quick, almost instant, heat source to prepare a delicious summer meal.  Their speed makes them the perfect cooking solution when you get home after a full day and time is a factor.

In recent years, wood pellet grills have become extremely popular and are another fantastic option for your grilling needs. Flavor and precision are the biggest draws to a wood pellet grill.  While a wood pellet grill does not provide the speed of a propane grill, they make up for it with their many flavor options that will add a “WOW” factor to your meal.  The slow cooking and low-temp smoking abilities of a wood pellet grill are what excite many of today’s backyard chefs.   Whether it’s a tender pork loin, fall-off-the-bone ribs, or a juicy prime rib the wood pellet grill will not disappoint.

No matter which grill is best for you, remember the most important thing is to get out and enjoy cooking a meal while the beautiful days are here.  Happy grilling!
