What I Want to Be When I Grow Up!Jul 01, 2019 11:02AM ● By The Hood Magazine
What do you want to be when you grow up? We were all asked this question when we were little, and we love to ask kids this question now! Answers vary: a teacher, a singer, a ballerina, a police officer. Whatever the answer, we believe in the importance of encouraging kids to be whatever they want to be.
Each year, we feature local kids and ask what they want to be when they grow up. We partner with local businesses to talk to kids about their dream jobs. We have a photo shoot to showcase the journey.
This year, we featured seven kids from across the Sioux Empire whose dream jobs take them anywhere from the basketball court to the moon. We are grateful to All American Gymnastics Academy, Vishnu Bunny, the Sanford Pentagon, and the Washington Pavilion for allowing us to bring kids to their locations.
We hope you enjoy learning more about these kids and seeing photos from their visits around Sioux Falls! Thank you to Julie Prairie of Julie Prairie Photography for joining us and photographing the journey. Thank you to AppleTree for allowing us to visit with kids about what they want to be when they grow up. “What I Want to Be When I Grow Up!” helps make kids’ dreams a reality!
