Summer Family Fun: Good Ol' Fashioned Fun

Check out our list of ways your family can have some good ol' fashioned fun this summer!

  • Backyard camping
  • Blow bubbles
  • Chase fireflies
  • Create a maypole to dance around
  • Create a neighborhood scavenger hunt checklist,
  • Drive out to the country to watch the stars (During new moon or look up meteor shower nights)
  • Feed your backyard animals (birdseed, nuts/corn for the squirrels)
  • Four Square
  • Grill out
  • Have a campfire
  • Hop scotch
  • Host a lemonade stand
  • Jump rope
  • Lie on a blanket and name/talk about the clouds
  • Make cookies for neighbors
  • Make mud pies
  • Make“potions” (find nature items to grind up with rocks, adding water, etc. in a bucket, and stirring with sticks)
  • Outdoor “water-paint” (with paint brushes and water)
  • Paint rocks and hide/seek with them
  • Picnic in your yard
