Summer Family Fun: Good Ol' Fashioned Fun

Check out our list of ways your family can have some good ol' fashioned fun this summer!
- Backyard camping
- Blow bubbles
- Chase fireflies
- Create a maypole to dance around
- Create a neighborhood scavenger hunt checklist,
- Drive out to the country to watch the stars (During new moon or look up meteor shower nights)
- Feed your backyard animals (birdseed, nuts/corn for the squirrels)
- Four Square
- Grill out
- Have a campfire
- Hop scotch
- Host a lemonade stand
- Jump rope
- Lie on a blanket and name/talk about the clouds
- Make cookies for neighbors
- Make mud pies
- Make“potions” (find nature items to grind up with rocks, adding water, etc. in a bucket, and stirring with sticks)
- Outdoor “water-paint” (with paint brushes and water)
- Paint rocks and hide/seek with them
- Picnic in your yard
- Plant sunflowers
- Play after dark (Hide and seek, Ghosts in the graveyard, Lighthouse, Glow Sticks)
- Play red light- green light
- Play simon says
- Read outside
- Sidewalk chalk drawings
- Wash the car
